About Toran Making is a decorative craft practice that combines design, colour application, surface decoration and handmade assembly. It helps participants explore both traditional and contemporary decorative styles through the creation of hanging torans for entrances, walls and festive spaces.
In this Toran Making Workshop, participants will be introduced to concept development, material selection, shape planning, cutting, painting, decorating and final arrangement techniques. They may create torans using paper, MDF board and other supporting decorative materials. Themes such as Welcome, Diwali and other festive or decorative concepts can be developed according to design preference and creative approach.
Designed by Himanshu Art Institute, this Toran Making workshop for teens and adults supports creativity, hand skills, decorative sense and design understanding through an engaging and culturally rooted art and craft activity.
