About Tie & Dye is a textile-based art practice that focuses on resist dyeing, colour movement and pattern formation. Through tying, folding and controlled colour application, participants can create unique fabric designs with vibrant effects and expressive surface quality.
In this Tie & Dye Workshop, participants will be introduced to fabric preparation, folding structures, tying methods, colour planning, dye application, pattern development and finishing techniques. They will explore designs such as spirals, stripes, circular effects, crumple textures, gradients and multicolour compositions on suitable fabric surfaces. The workshop helps learners understand how resist areas, fabric folds and colour flow work together to create decorative textile patterns.
Designed by Himanshu Art Institute, this fabric art workshop for teens and adults helps participants develop creativity, colour sense, textile understanding and confidence through an engaging hands-on process.
