About Paper Lantern Making is a creative paper craft practice that combines structure, design, colour arrangement and decorative finishing. Through cutting, folding and assembling techniques, participants can create handmade lanterns that are visually appealing and suitable for festive or decorative use.
In this Paper Lantern Making Workshop, participants will be introduced to paper selection, measurement, cutting methods, folding structures, shape construction, joining techniques and surface decoration. They will learn how to create different lantern forms using coloured papers, pastel sheets, patterned sheets and decorative materials. The session may also include border designing, hanging arrangements and finishing details using ribbons, beads, sequins, lace or glitter elements.
