About Madhubani Painting is a traditional Indian folk art practice known for its strong outlines, decorative pattern work, symbolic motifs and vibrant surface treatment. Its visual identity is built through detailed fillings, rhythmic lines and balanced compositions that make the artwork both expressive and ornamental.
In this Madhubani Painting Workshop, participants will be introduced to the visual language of Madhubani art, including motif development, border creation, line treatment, space filling, pattern construction and colour harmony. They will learn how to create birds, fish, flowers, leaves, peacocks and other folk-inspired elements while maintaining the distinctive decorative quality of the style. The session may be explored on paper, canvas or other suitable surfaces using appropriate colours and drawing tools.
Designed by Himanshu Art Institute, this Madhubani art workshop for teens and adults helps participants build creative confidence, detailing skills and a deeper appreciation of Indian traditional art.
