About KKalamkari Painting is a traditional Indian decorative art practice known for its refined line work, ornamental detailing and stylised representation of floral and nature-inspired forms. Its visual richness comes from intricate pattern development, balanced compositions and elegant surface treatment.
In this Kalamkari Painting Workshop, participants will be introduced to the visual language of Kalamkari art, including motif development, border design, line treatment, pattern construction, decorative filling and colour harmony. They will learn how to create peacocks, floral arrangements, vines, leaves, lotus forms, paisleys and other traditional elements while maintaining rhythm and compositional balance. The session may be explored on paper, canvas, fabric or other suitable surfaces.
Designed by Himanshu Art Institute, this Kalamkari workshop for teens and adults helps participants build design sensitivity, brush control and creative confidence while exploring a rich and elegant Indian art tradition.
